We
have a spacious garden, parking facilities, Internet access, a laundry
service, and a clean kitchen for guests (self-catering or otherwise).
We provide good, accurate and up-to-date information and maps of the
area and the usual treks undertaken. We also offer luggage storage
facilities. We rent out bicycles, a sailing boat (laser 2), climbing
& camping equipment (ice-picks, tent, etc.), a car and camper-van.
There is also a well-maintained library of English, German, French
and Spanish books. The "Zapato Amarillo" (Yellow Shoe) is
the perfect place to either "chill out" after an exhausting
expedition to Patagonia, or to “tank up” before a difficult
trail to the mountains, or further south.
Puerto Octay is a picturesque town of 3,500 inhabitants at the sheltered, western shore of Lake Llanquihue, the largest of ten beautiful lakes, with spectacular views of Calbuco, Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. The surroundings merge from the green, rolling hills around lakes Rupanco and Llanquihue, through to the lush rainforests of the Andes. This beautiful environment provides opportunities for many outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, mountaineering, horse-riding, mountain-biking, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Furthermore, the traditional way of life and breathtaking scenery may provide the necessary inspiration for drawing, painting and photography.
We, Nadia and Armin invite you to come and discover this exceptionally beautiful region of Chile.
